    Description

1974 Small Teachers Whiskey Pitcher Black Jug Scottish Ball Commemorative 3"H
According to a 1974 New York Times article, the week of November 13 was a Scotland week-long celebration including the 4th Scottish Ball at the Plaza Hotel. This small whiskey pitcher is a commemorative item from that event.
This whiskey pitcher or jug comes from a large collection of liquor related items.
Distilleries put their products and company names on these pitchers to advertise. Bars would provide water in these pitchers so that a patron could water down their drink as desired. These days, they are not widely made.
This pitcher is about the size of a creamer. It is ceramic with a black glaze and gold color lettering. One side shows "The
Scottish Ball 1974" and the other "No Scotch improves the flavour of water like Teacher's".
