1983 Orig Polish Movie Poster  MASKOTA (the Mascot) art by Grzegorz Marszałek  Excellent Condition original Polish art Theater poster from the 1982 Hungarian Movie MASKOTKA.  Measure 26.5" x 38"  There is a series of small wrinkles on the right edge that extend approx 1/16" from the edge from where the poster was rolled for storage.  there is also a tiny 1/4" tear on the bottom left edge.  The poster presents excellently and the damage is not apparent unless you are looking for it.  Excellent example of vintage creative Polish Art work by oppressed up and coming artists.  Please see photos to evaluate condition for yourself.  Photos are part of the description.

He studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the PWSSP in Poznań, where he defended his diploma with distinction in 1971 in the studio of Lucjan Mianowski and Waldemar Świerzy.
He obtained the academic title of professor.
Currently, she is the head of the Poster and Illustration Studio and the Department of Visual Communication at the School of Applied Arts in Szczecin.
He presented his works at 18 individual and 85 collective exhibitions both at home and abroad.
He has received many awards and distinctions, including: the New Gallery Medal for lifetime achievement in Poznań (1977), a silver medal at the VIII International Biennial of Graphic Arts in Brno (1978), 1st prize in the field of graphics at the 7th Fine Arts Festival in Warsaw ( 1978), 3rd prize for a poster in
The Hollywood Reporter
competition
in Los Angeles (1981), jury distinction at the 2nd International Poster Salon in Paris (1988), distinction at the 12th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw (1988).
About The Poster
: Polish posters have come to stand apart from the advertising design conventions fostered in Europe during the 20th century. It was during the communist regime, a time when culture was closely monitored by the state, that Polish artists found liberation in poster art. Ironically, this foremost public artform became ground for individual expression. During that period, the cultural institutions (of theatre and cinema especially) flourished as they were funded by government agencies. Artists freshly out of the fine arts academy flocked towards poster production as the demand for this art was rapidly growing. The result became some of the most unique and expressive posters the world has ever seen - and artworks in themselves.
This and other pieces of Polish poster art we will be listing in the near future come from the personal collection of a Polish artist who collected personally and then ultimately opened and ran a small museum dedicated to to Polish graphic arts until it's closing for health reasons.
