Vernon KilnsEARLY CALIFORNIA
Cobalt Blue Creamer, 1930s
This is a charming creamer made by Vernon Kilns, in a pattern called "Early California." It is glazed in a very elegant dark blue called "Cobalt Blue," and is identified by the ring around the rim and light bands on the handle. I believe this pattern was manufactured from about 1936 to the mid-1940s. It measures 2-7/8 inches high at the rim, 5-3/8 inches from spout tip to handle edge, and 2 inches wide across the round foot ring.
This vintage creamer is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is a tiny bump in the glaze on the rim (under glaze and original to manufacture), and a small flake (of the kind caused by firing) on the foot ring. There are also 3 stilt marks from firing on the bottom.
The piece is not marked.
