This rare shark tooth sword has a wonderful dark patina and dates from the 19th
century
or before. The sword was not made for
tourists
and measures
approximately
20 inches in length and is missing many of the shark teeth as can be seen in the photos
. Swords such as this were used to settle disputes in ritual dual`s, I have been told that this looks to be a rare Kiribati weapon [Micronesian]
.
