K Zildjian EAK 18” Dark Crash cymbal. Weighs 1387 Grams. Excellent sounding example. Beautiful smooth edges with no flea bites. Back years ago when these weren’t so difficult to find, I went through at least 10 of these looking for the best sounding 28” EAK dark crash I could find. This was the keeper though it wasn’t the prettiest. The lighter weight is a big plus. Many of the more common heavier and beefy 1500 gram examples were too clangy snd not nearly as good sounding. If you are looking for a good one, I’ve done the work for you! I’ve heard the moniker “there isn’t a bad sounding EAK” repeated many times over the years and I highly disagree. Look at photos for a better description. Obviously some usual Patina for a 40ish year old cymbal. As mentioned previously, the edges are fantastic. A little keyholing. No cracks. It’s a fine specimen.
Love this cymbal but I’m streamlining the collection and moving my Zildjians to new owners. I’ll have my last which is an EAK 16” dark crash up in the near future.
