1930's He used large kites for advertising purposes.
1930's-1940's He invented improvements in barrage balloons (actually kytoons) that would help defend coastlines during WWII.
1950's Domina Jalbert invents the ram-air airfoil (parafoil) which became an important principle in kiting, parachuting, skydiving, hang gliding, paragliding, sport flying, power kiting, and more.
