    Description

Teko Teko is a Maori wood carving made out of Matai wood, a native New Zealand timber.  It has paua shell eyes.  It is 13 1/4 inches tall and about 5 1/4 inches wide.  It measures about 1 3/4 inches from front-to-back.  It is designed to hang on a wall, and has a hole at the top for that purpose.  The artist's name carved on the back is Dhulton.  Labels on the back are Moana Wood Carvings Rotorua New Zealand, Timber Matai, Handcrafted, with the name of the carving and historical information about how similar totems/carvings were used as guardians to ward off evil spirits.
