    Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Abel after a life well lived in his 98th year at Fairview LTC in Toronto. Abel began his life journey on May 18, 1922 and completed it suddenly on October 28, 2020. Predeceased by his beloved wife Arlete and his loving daughter Margaret. He is survived by his sons Abel Jr (June), Vidal (Donna), Tony (Cathy), Rick (Muriel), and Manuel (Maria); grandchildren, Monica, Mike, Amber, Abel Jr, Sarah, Tonia, Tony Jr, Harmond, Nicko, Alexa, and Rea; great grandchildren Cole, Rachel, Brienna, Carley, Mathew, Blake; great great grandchild Layla
Abel unconditionally loved and was so proud of all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. There was no reservation needed to drop by any Sunday for a family dinner. He was a devoted father, sharing his joy of gardening and sports with his family including Brazilian soccer, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Toronto Raptors.
Abel always cherished his upbringing in Santos, Brazil. But, his true love was Madeira Island where he met his wife Arlete. His eye's would light up like the 4th of July whenever he would speak of that most memorable day of his life when he first laid eyes on his wife to be while attending church in Sao Vincente. It was love and first sight, he declared to himself that she was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen in his life and that he would marry her.
Abel will be missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure to know him. He was bigger than life.
