VINTAGE 1980s FRED ROBERTS CO JAPAN UNICORN & PEGASUS RAINBOW COFFEE CUP MUG SET

Offered here is a group of four ceramic coffee mugs or tea cups. The set comes inside the original box. PLEASE NOTE - THE BOX PICTURES FOUR DIFFERENT STYLES. BUT I HAVE ONLY THREE DIFFERENT STYLES, THERE ARE DUPLICATES OF ONE MUG, AND ONE OF THE PEGASUS MUGS SHOWN ON THE BOX IS NOT PRESENT. (See close-up with a pencil point showing the MISSING mug.) I don't know if this was a mix-up at the factory, or what. There SHOULD be two different unicorn mugs and two different Pegasus mugs, but I have three unicorn mugs, and only one Pegasus mug. The box reads: "Stoneware 4Pc MUG SET...Fred Roberts Co. San Francisco, CA...Made In Japan." Each much has a fantasy / magical image showing a unicorn, or Pegasus, frolicking with bluebirds and a rainbow in the background. They are not dated, but these appear to be from the late 1970's or early 1980's - give or take. (No bar code on the box.) I don't think these were ever actually used, but PLEASE NOTE - I think these are "FACTORY SECONDS." Each mug has what appears to be at least one small "factory flaw." It may be a blemish in the glaze, surface "dimple," or other flaw. One has a couple of 1/4 inch cracks near the base, under the glaze. (See close-up.) For the most part, the flaws are minor, and there are no serious chips or cracks. They all display beautifully, and are guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.
