  • Condition: Front, side and top of the jug are in good condition; however, the back is a different story. There is a hole on the back at the bottom. Looks like someone wanted to make a lamp out of this bottle. In making the hole, a crack was created on the back. There is also a hairline crack on the front, but not too bad. Wear and stain on the bottom with the back crack running to the front. Please look closely at all the photos for the condition details and judge for yourself. Please ask questions if something is not clear.

    Description

    This is a Vintage Glen Garry Blended Scotch Whisky
    Stoneware Jug. Made in Scotland, circa 1960s. It was
    imported by S. S. Pierce Company of Boston, Mass.
    The jug is marked with “Federal Law Forbids Sale or
    Reuse of this Bottle” on the back top. This phrase was
    required on all liquor bottles sold within the United States
    that were made between 1935 and 1964. I'm guessing that
    this jug was made in the early 1960s.
    The jug is 6 3/4" tall, 4 1/2" wide at the bottom of the handles.
    The bottom is 3 3/4" in diameter. The jug weighs just over 2 Lbs.
    Great jug for someone who wants to make a lamp out of it. the
    hole for the power cord is already there.
