    Description

    Vintage carved coconut handled bowl or basket with green inside from limes. This measures approx 5" x 5". The entire piece is covered with shallow ancestral tribal carvings. This is a unique tribal item from Tuam Island, north off coast of Finschhafen (town) in Papua New Guinea 1943. From a relatives estate acquired when he was in the WWII battle there. As you can see there is a crack in the handle but seems stable.
    I have included a picture of the note he left about items he brought back from there. It is the last picture. I will also include a copy with item when shipped. Thanks
