A 1940 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked German Movie Poster (measures 37 3/4" x 56" [96 x 142 cm]) with the linenbacking 39” x 57 ½”
Gluckspilze (literally translates to "Lucky Guys"), the 1935 Robert A. Stemmle German school financial family melodrama starring Albert Lieven, Clara Savio, Clemens Hasse, Bernhard Minetti, and Herbert Roehl
THIS FOLLOWING NOTE IS FROM THE AUCTION HOUSE WHICH I PURCHASED THE POSTER FROM! Note that this is a very rare "country of origin" poster from Germany from during World War II, which we have never auctioned before. There are very few German movie posters from during World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. It is likely that German posters from during the Nazi era are even more rare than those from before that era, because most of those that survived the war would have been destroyed right after the war.
Storyline
The holidays are over and the students of the Schiller high school in Baldenburg. The new term will wake up with the chorale , my heart, and sing before Director Bartmann reads a deed of gift from Manfred Werner from Bahia in Brazil .
