Antique Extra-Large Bethlehem / Jerusalem Button, Hand-Carved of White Mother-of-Pearl,2 1/2" with loop.A gorgeous, dimensional hand-carved 8-point star of pearly white mother-of-pearl shell material.Additional open-work designs enhance the effect.This button is stitched on at the loop on the top.This 2" diameter Jerusalem or Bethlehem button was lovingly wrapped and preserved in a wooden box by Mrs. Gerrish.The back shows this is one of the older buttons, with its carving striations and the thinness of the button itself. It could also become a pendant to be worn on a chain, hung from the 1/2" loop which is carved onto the button.A treasure!NO damage at all!Raised 8-point star design.Never used.
